Davao City
From Highlands to Islands, Experience Where Life is Here.
Welcome to Davao City
Davao City is a sprawling, peaceful metropolis in southern Mindanao that perfectly balances urban life with wild nature. Watched over by Mount Apo—the highest peak in the region—it is famous for its clean air, absolute safety, and rich biodiversity. The city is a major hub of trade and cultural exchange, where modern infrastructure meets the ancient traditions of indigenous communities.
The Majestic Philippine Eagle Center
Davao is a global center for wildlife conservation, hosting the Philippine Eagle Center at the base of the mountains. Here, travelers can see the critically endangered Philippine Eagle, one of the largest and most powerful eagles on Earth, thriving in protected rainforest enclosures designed to breed and return these sacred raptors back to the wild.
The Majestic Kadayawan Festival
Every August, the streets of Davao erupt in color during the world-famous Kadayawan Festival. This massive thanksgiving celebration honors the harvest and the heritage of the city’s 11 indigenous and Muslim tribes. The absolute highlight is the Indak-Indak sa Kadayawan—a spectacular street dancing competition featuring dancers in elaborate, tribal-inspired costumes, alongside the grand Pamulak sa Kadayawan parade of massive floral floats decorated with fresh fruits and orchids.
Fruit Baskets and Artisanal Cacao
The volcanic soils surrounding Mount Apo make Davao an agricultural paradise, celebrated for sweet mangoes, mangosteens, and the famous, creamy Durian fruit. The region has also gained international acclaim for producing award-winning, single-origin dark chocolates exported to fine confectioners worldwide.
